The Conservative Council has launched an ambitious £10 million programme to completely resurface 50 local roads in the next 12 months, alongside the Council’s normal road maintenance schemes.
Conservative Councillors are aware that there are issues with a number of Harrow’s roads.
Due to years of mismanagement and lack of action under the previous Labour administration, a large backlog of crumbling roads has built up. This will mean it will take years to bring our roads up to a decent standard.
Under Conservative leadership, Harrow now has a long-term, strategic and proactive asset management strategy for assessing and maintaining our highways. This will mean the Council can properly prioritise important roads and plan maintenance works in a more coordinated way, which will deliver a better service for local people.
The Conservative Council is working hard to restore Harrow’s streets to a good condition and have already filled 584 potholes this year (so far)!
