Cllr Marilyn Ashton, Deputy Leader of Harrow's Conservative Councillors, has raised the continued poor treatment of the Headstone Horticultural Society by Harrow's Labour Council.
Labour left the Headstone Horticultural Society in the lurch over the future of their site in Long Elms for months. The Council has tried to remove the Horticultural Society from their site so that it can be developed into yet more flats.
The community group, which has been active since World War Two, only found out their fate from a Facebook comment by a Labour Councillor. To treat a community group in this way is unacceptable.
Conservative Councillors have worked hard to support the Horticultural Society in this difficult time and have done their best to get updates from the Council to the community group. We need a Conservative Council which will work with local community groups, not against them.
