Residents of Eaton Close, Stanmore, were consulted by Harrow Council on the proposal to implement yellow lines. The Council’s proposals do not include a CPZ (controlled parking zone) with parking permits. The Council said this would be treated as a separate proposal, meaning the proposals for yellow lines would leave residents without any parking. Residents unanimously wrote to the Council objecting to the proposals as there would be no parking for the residents who live there, many of which are elderly or disabled.
Despite the overwhelming feeling against this proposal, the residents of Eaton Close have received a letter this week, from the Portfolio Holder, Cllr Varsha Parmar confirming that the proposed scheme has been approved. Residents of Eaton Close are furious and local Councillor Marilyn Ashton is outraged that residents’ views are not being taken seriously.
