Harrow Conservatives have raised concerns over the sharp increase in fly-tip reports for 2020/21 at the June Council Cabinet meeting.
The year 2020/21 saw an increase of 3,500 fly-tip reports compared to 2019/20. Meanwhile in neighbouring Brent Council, for the same time period, fly-tip reports fell by 3,000.
Back in February, Harrow Conservatives proposed creating a taskforce to crackdown on the blight of fly-tipping as well as introducing a free bulk waste collection service to help dispose of large items, like sofas and mattresses.
Cllr Anjana Patel, Conservative spokesperson for environment, said:
"Despite these proposals being fully costed, Labour Councillors chose to play party politics and vote against our extra measures to tackle fly-tipping in Harrow.
Harrow residents deserve better than this, we need a Conservative Council that will prioritise preventing fly-tipping in our borough."
