Kanti has lived in Harrow for the last twenty-one years and runs his professional accountancy and tax practice from Harrow.

He has been an elected councillor since May 2014. He is the Shadow Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and serves on the Governance, Audit and Risk Management (GARMS) committee, the Licensing Committee and Licensing Panel. He is also the Scrutiny Lead Member for Resources.

He continues to oversee the finance team and regulatory requirements at a Faith charity and is a Trustee for an Educational Charity. In the past few years, he has got involved with local community issues ranging from education, environmental/cleaning, and saving the Gujrati Language at GCSE and `A` levels. He wants to make a difference in the local community to ensure effective delivery of services. Council finances, Governance, and efficient use of resources are of special interest.
