Cllr Philip Benjamin was elected to Council in May 2018. He has been resident in Stanmore for over twenty years. During this period, his contribution to the local community has included serving as a school governor, membership of the Harrow Educational Appeals Tribunal and service as a local magistrate. Engagement in these activities has enabled Philip to appreciate the diversity of the community and gain an insight into some of the issues which affect local residents and their families.
Philip is particularly interested in current planning and environmental issues affecting the Stanmore area. These range from over-development through to illegal fly-tipping and garden refuge collection. These issues affect a wide spectrum of local residents and Philip is keen to promote the interests of local residents on these issues within Harrow.
Philip is a solicitor and university lecturer. He has a particular interest in employment and discrimination law and in addition to lecturing in this area, he has published a textbook on employment law. He is married with two sons. He strongly believes in putting residents’ interests first and looks forward to being able to serve the local community in an efficient and effective manner.
