Cllr Pritesh Patel was first elected to the Council in May 2014 and has been a resident of Harrow for the past 17 years.
He takes an active interest in local political matters aimed at tackling diverse issues such as: improvement in local infrastructure, council governance and service provision, quality of education in schools, family cohesion and the welfare system. He is keen to make a difference in the lives of ordinary people and believes passionately in principles of personal integrity, accountability and fairness.
Presently, Cllr Patel serves as the Cabinet Member responsible for Cleaner Streets & Public Safety. From May 2022 to May 2024 Cllr Patel was Cabinet Member for Adult Services & Public Health.
Previously, Pritesh has served as the Shadow Portfolio Holder Finance & Resources as well as being a member of the Performance & Finance Scrutiny Sub-Committee. Previously, and he was the Shadow Portfolio Holder for Performance and Customer Service as well as being a member of the Planning Committee, Employees’ Consultative Forum, and Personnel Appeals Panel. Outside Council he is a member of the Harrow Weald Common Board of Conservators and the Harrow Weald Safer Neighbourhood Panel.
Pritesh's role means that he leads in scrutinising the spending decisions of Harrow's Labour Council, unfortunately due to a number of flawed projects and blunders Pritesh as been kept very busy.
A Software Engineer by profession, he has previously worked in the telecommunications, IT and media technology sectors and has held various technical and managerial positions within both large and start-up organisations. He is currently the Director and Co-Founder of a property and financial investment company.
Cllr Patel is married with three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family, socialising, technology, cycling and travelling.
